Jeff and Anne Barnhart (USA) are no strangers to our club, and return with two long-time friends who happen to be top tier UK jazz musicians! Multi-reed virtuoso John Hallam will wow you with his clarinet and saxophone sounds as well as his interaction with Anne, from his sensitive backing of Anne’s vocals to exciting chase choruses with her flute. Vintage percussionist Nick Ward is a visual as well as aural delight; he knows just what to do and when to do it! The repertoire will be swing classics from the 1920’s-40’s, peppered with the Barnharts’ customarily irreverent humour. Swing and sway to such hits as “Lady be Good,” “Blue Skies,” and “I Cover the Waterfront.” One particular highlight is John and Jeff’s duet on George Lewis’ “Burgundy St. Blues!”
